2007 International Flying Boat Festival - July 2007: Earlier in 2007, Captain Patrick White and his son began plans to fly their vintage PBY Catalina Flying Boat, "Vintage Lady", from Botwood, Newfoundland to Foynes. Unfortunately, technical problems which grounded "Vintage Lady", the International Flying Boat Festival was held as plans, commerating the 70th Anniversary to the day of the first passenger trial flights by Pan American Airways and BOAC. The festival was a great success! There was wonderful entertainment, and all had a great time. See some photos from the festival and visit the official festival website, www.foynesfestival.com. Flying Boat Museum re-opens - Jul 2006: After a long winter during which major renovations were underway, our museum held it's "grand re-opening" in July 2006 to a very enthusiastic reception. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of our full scale model of a Boeing B314 Flying Boat! Many of the new features can be seen here, and you can view a video kindly provided to us by John Sherwin of Videos on the Net. Please come by and see our new look!
