Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum is Ireland’s first aviation museum and the world’s only flying boat museum. It preserves and educates about the region’s history, particularly pertaining to early transatlantic aviation (and Irish coffee, too!)
In a short time, the museum has established itself as an important Irish heritage site and received numerous awards. It’s a unique cultural and historical institution that enriches Irish and international visitors alike.
The museum continues to evolve to ensure it remains a valued and valuable attraction in Midwestern Ireland. You can help with a donation to the development fund. Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum is a registered Irish charity (charity number CHY10251). Donations from PAYE workers, companies, and corporations are tax deductible. Charitable contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated.
Almost 40% of our visitors come from the United States, and we are humbled that many have asked about making donations. In order to simplify that process, a charity has been set up in the US dedicated exclusively to accept donations from US taxpayers. The Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum USA Inc is an official registered 501(c)3 public charity in the United States, and all donations will go to support our work here at the museum. Their U.S. tax identification number is 84-2861777.
We would also be grateful for donations of any memorabilia, photographs, or other materials related to American Overseas or American Export Airlines from the flying boat period of 1937 to 1950, and especially for anything related to Pan Am, as we are making every effort to preserve the history of that great airline.
